What was once an adorable home is now covered in cryptic graffiti, creating a major eyesore and upsetting neighbors.

The address in Oakland’s Redwood Heights neighborhood was picture-perfect, with pastel yellow paint, a lush green yard and classic brick.

Real estate records show the home changed ownership in January 2026, and ever since, trouble has followed.

Frustration is growing as residents say the new owners covered their home in graffiti, triggering complaints and concern across the block.

Neighbors told KTVU the home, once well-kept, is now covered in red and black paint. The phrases, symbols, and markings include drawings of a middle finger, unclear political statements, and other difficult-to-read images.

“It looks horrible,” Char Brown—who lives nearby—told the outlet.

Several residents say the homeowners created the graffiti, calling the property a “free paint zone” and encouraging others to contribute.

“They did it, and then they invite people to go on there and do more,” added Brown.

Neighbors have submitted complaints through Oakland’s 311 system, arguing the graffiti may violate city code, according to KTVU.

Some neighbors are now worried about how this could affect property values in the whole neighborhood.

“I say, if they would go through this length to do what they’ve done, there’s no stopping them from doing other stuff,” another neighbor said.

Residents are also criticizing a new black iron fence around the home, saying it’s too tall and secured with a bike lock.

The unusual display has left residents both confused and concerned, as the markings keep drawing attention to an otherwise quiet street.

For now, the home stands in stark contrast to the rest of the neighborhood—once pristine, now covered in graffiti and at the center of growing outrage.
